The YOUniverse
You don't see what is. You see who you are.
A philosophical quote on one of my social media channels caught my attention: “The universe isn’t for or against you. It is indifferent.”
The first rebuttal that was posted said, “Not indifferent. Its love is unlimited and more than most can endure or accept.”
As I reflect on these extreme perspectives, I recognize the common fallacy to conflate the universe with its Source. But they are not interchangeable.
The universe is not human, therefore has no emotion or intention. It simply is what it is. But although the universe doesn’t love or hate, all of creation reflects and illuminates the essence of its Source. And the One who created the uni-verse is unconditional (agape) LOVE!
Love is the limitless creative Force from which the universe came into being and by which it is sustained.
Love created the universe. The universe did not create love!
Now exchange this wide-angle cosmic lens with a macro close-up personal lens. Re:focus on your self. When you look into a mirror, so you like what/who you see?
Keep in mind: your reflection does not love or loathe you. YOU do!
Your life is a REFLECTION of who and what we believe yourselves to be. But our beliefs are not immutable truths. They are simply our current perception based on limited understanding.
Changing your beliefs is a choice. And that singular choice affects EVERYTHING!
Proverbs 23:7. The full verse reads: "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
What you think IN YOUR HEART…that is what you believe. Regardless of what you SAY you believe, your actions reveal what you REALLY believe.
As Ed Mylett says, “In life, we don’t get what we want. We get who we are.”
But here’s the good news: you can ALWAYS adjust your beliefs! How? By speaking a higher truth to yourself and acting accordingly. It will require time and persistence and effort and faith…and a whole lotta grace. It is not designed to be easy. It is designed to break you down in order to build you up. Just like muscles…which includes your heart. But through that refining process, the dross will be burned away to reveal the purest substance that has always been at your core: Agape love!
It has been said that, “The ONLY way to have the life you love is to love the life you have.” There is no other way!
That, dear friends, is “the narrow way” that leads to life, not the paved way that leads to self-destruction.
